Leadership Consulting FAQ

Honest answers to the questions prospective clients ask us most often, from pricing and timelines to what happens if things go wrong.

Common questions

A standard coaching engagement is 10 sessions, spaced fortnightly, and costs between £3,500 and £6,000. The exact price depends on the seniority of the person being coached and whether we include a 360-degree feedback round at the start. We quote a fixed fee before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

If you want a shorter trial, we offer a three-session introductory package for £1,200. That gives both sides enough time to decide whether the relationship is productive.

Day one is diagnostic. We use structured exercises to map how decisions actually get made in your team, where information gets stuck, and which relationships carry the most tension. The output is a visual map that the whole group can see and discuss.

Day two is action planning. The team picks three to five changes they want to make, assigns owners and deadlines, and agrees on a follow-up rhythm. We return for a half-day check-in six weeks later to see what stuck and what needs adjusting.

Workshop fees start at £4,800 for groups of up to 12 people. Larger groups or multi-site events are quoted individually.

Yes. About 70% of our clients are based in south and mid Wales, but we regularly travel to Bristol, Birmingham, London and Manchester for on-site workshops. Coaching sessions can be delivered by video call from anywhere in the UK, and we have done so for clients as far north as Edinburgh.

Travel expenses for locations more than 90 minutes from our office in Braun-over-Reinger are charged at cost. We will always tell you the estimated travel cost before confirming a booking.

A few patterns tend to show up. Meetings end without decisions. The same conflicts keep resurfacing. New managers struggle and nobody is sure how to support them. Staff turnover is higher than it should be, especially among mid-career employees who cite "management" in their exit interviews.

If any of that sounds familiar, a 30-minute scoping call with us will help you figure out whether outside help would make a difference. The call is free and there is no obligation.

Two of our four consultants hold the ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential, which requires at least 500 hours of documented coaching experience. One is a chartered occupational psychologist registered with the HCPC. The fourth has 18 years of line management and HR leadership experience in the NHS and the private sector.

We assign consultants to engagements based on fit, not just availability. During the scoping call we will explain who we think is the right match for your situation and why.

Coaching sessions can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours notice at no charge. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are billed at 50% of the session fee.

Workshops require 14 days notice to reschedule without penalty. If you cancel a workshop with fewer than 14 days notice, we retain 30% of the fee to cover preparation time already invested. These terms are spelled out in the engagement letter you sign before we begin.

It depends on what you are trying to change. Coaching clients often notice shifts in how they handle specific situations within three or four sessions, roughly six to eight weeks. Broader changes in team culture typically take three to six months to become visible in day-to-day behaviour.

We set measurable goals at the start of every engagement, so you are not relying on gut feeling to judge progress. At the mid-point review we compare where you are against those goals and adjust the plan if needed.

Yes. Coaching conversations are confidential between the coach and the coachee. If the organisation is paying for the coaching, we agree upfront on what (if anything) gets reported back, and the coachee always knows exactly what will be shared.

Workshop content stays within the group unless the team collectively decides otherwise. We never share individual contributions or assessments with anyone outside the room without explicit written consent.

How an engagement typically works

Every project follows roughly the same four steps, though the details vary depending on whether you are booking coaching, a workshop or a pipeline design.

1. Scoping call

A free 30-minute conversation by phone or video. We ask about your situation, what you have already tried and what a good outcome looks like. If we think we can help, we send a brief proposal within five working days. If we cannot, we say so and try to point you toward someone who can.

2. Engagement letter

A short document (usually two pages) that sets out the scope, timeline, fees, cancellation terms and confidentiality arrangements. Nothing starts until both sides have signed it. There is no retainer; you pay per engagement or in agreed instalments.

3. Delivery

Coaching sessions happen fortnightly, either in person at your office or by video call. Workshops are scheduled at a date that works for your team, with at least three weeks lead time for preparation. Pipeline design projects run on a six-week timeline with weekly check-ins.

4. Review and follow-up

Every engagement includes a formal review at the end. For coaching, that means a final session dedicated to reflecting on progress and identifying what the coachee will continue working on independently. For workshops and pipeline projects, we deliver a written summary with recommendations and return for a follow-up session six weeks later.
